Americans are unhappy with US foreign policy - The Washington Post
More and more Americans believe that foreign policy should be a top US priority in 2024, The Washington Post reports, citing a new AP-NORC poll. Given the indirect participation of the United States in two military conflicts at once, in Ukraine and Israel, as well as taking into account the growing threat from China and the Houthis, twice as many Americans declared the need to revise US foreign policy.
As the publication notes, the results of a new survey indicate a significant increase in concern about US involvement in the affairs of other countries - 20% of respondents expressed concern about this issue, compared to 5% a year ago. About 4 in 10 American adults named a foreign policy issue among those the government should work on in the next year.
According to the survey, voters are most concerned about the war in the Middle East - it was mentioned by 5% of respondents. As for the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, 4% of Americans put it as a priority - slightly less than 6% at the end of 2022, WP reports.
